Eden Hazard makes Chelsea Premier League title claim with Arsenal comparison | Football

Eden Hazard says Arsenal won the Premier League title by playing ‘very bad’ on occasions (talkSPORT)

Eden Hazard believes Chelsea need to replicate Arsenal’s defensive prowess before thinking about a Premier League title challenge.

Xabi Alonso’s side have scored 10 goals in just four Premier League games this season but have registered seven points from a possible 12 after wins against Fulham and Brighton were followed by a defeat to Arsenal and a 2-2 draw at home to Hull City last weekend.

Chelsea have already conceded nine goals in the Premier League and Hazard feels that Alonso’s side will need to improve defensively if they are to finish close to Arsenal this season.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have four wins in four Premier League matches and have conceded just one goal so far in an impressive start to their title defence.

In a conversation with John Terry, Hazard was asked about Chelsea’s attacking trio of Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro, who is set to miss the trip to Brentford on Friday night.

‘They remind me a bit of us playing, me, Willian, those quality players,’ Hazard said.

Terry replied: ‘That’s a big compliment, if they can get to that level we’re okay, we’re good.’

Hazard added: ‘They’re still not but they’re still young and there are so many things to do. I like the way they’re playing.’

Terry then said: ‘It’s been exciting but you saw the game at the weekend where they drew 2-2 against Hull, they’re the games the big teams win at home.’

Hazard replied: ‘That’s why Arsenal won last year. Because sometimes they were playing very bad at the end, one corner, 1-0 [win], but I think it comes with experience.

‘The more experience you have, the more experience those kind of games you can win.’
